WHAT A DAY!

Well the dust is beginning to settle - to all our dedicated live music fans, our sponsors, the hard working crew at AMI Stadium and to ALL the artists, roadies, production crew, the stalls, etc  a big thanks for making Southern Amp 2 a day to remember... Some absolute amazing performances on all 3 stages and a shout out is especially sent to the Christchurch musicians who absolutely rocked the Chart & RDU local stage. We have some fanstastic local stuff going on in this city and long may that continue...

So that damn weatherman was wrong, well in fact EVERY weatherman in the country was wrong with one stubborn band of annoying cloud sitting right on Christchurch for most of the morning and nowhere else in the entire South Island! As if we didn't already have enough bands on the day... Saturday was sandwiched between two fabulous sunny days as well. Bah!

Anyway being the brave lot we are, 6000 of you still turned out to see the great line-up of bands. We hope you had a stunning time and would love to hear from you. Drop a note into the Forum page on the website. We want to know about your day, comments & suggestions of what could be done better next time and also let us know which bands, DJs, or anything else you would like to see in 2008. Help us to help you guys make Southern Amp even better each year from now on.

Some wrap-up things for 2007 -

Merchandise - If you didn't managed to get your Southern Amp 2007 T-shirt these will be available from Real Groovy Records in Tuam Street Christchurch from Friday onwards this week. If you live out of town, drop an email to info@southernamp.co.nz titled "SAMP Shirts" and we'll reply to let you know what styles and sizes we have left and what we can do to get one to you.

Pics - we'd love to see your pics. Email 1 or 2 of your best ones into us at info@southernamp.co.nz (we only want website size pics, nothing over 200Kbs please...) - site pics, punter pics, band pics, whatever you have. Don't email us 100's of them please, if you have LOTS of pics burn to a CD disc and send to Southern Amp Ltd, PO Box 17559, Christchurch 8840 - we'll load the best ones up onto the website and the absolute best ones will each win a Southern Amp 2007 T-shirt. So include your name and address in with whatever you send. 

Database - we have a very active newsletter service as you'll know via our database at www.southernamp.co.nz - tell all your mates who went with you to the show to sign up now so they can receive the news and info on Earlybird price tickets for next year's event first... Southern Amp 2007 was big but S-AMP-08 will be even bigger so if your mates are signed up they'll also get the info first.

There will be lots to look at on the website over the next few weeks so Southern Amp might be over but the fun still continues on the website. To The Rock, The Edge, Vodafone, Speights, The Press (those maps & times passes were absolutely brilliant), Ministry of Sound, RDU98.5FM, C4TV, Coruba Gold, 91ZM, Smokefree, ((Chart)), Oxfam (Make Trade Fair), Phantom, the ride operators and especially Christchurch City Council, Vbase & AMI Stadium for helping us stage this event - a HUGE thanks for your support.
